Fake Heiress Anna Sorokin, aka Anna Delvey, Reflects on Her Choices

Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, falsely represented herself as a wealthy heiress to gain entrance to New York City's upper-class social and arts scenes from 2013 to 2017. Born in a Moscow suburb in 1991, Sorokin moved with her family to Germany in 2007 before relocating to Paris, where she adopted the name Anna Delvey. This moniker continued to be used as she made her way to New York in 2014. She manipulated her way into an extravagant lifestyle, evading hotel bills and mingling among the city's elite, while also stealing from them.

While in New York, Anna Sorokin swindled banks and hotels out of an estimated $275,000 by portraying herself as a wealthy heiress named Anna Delvey. Sorokin was ultimately convicted for her actions. She spent nearly two years in prison and is currently on house arrest at her $4,000-per-month one-bedroom apartment in the East Village for overextending her visa. She is fighting a legal battle to stay in the United States.

In a recent interview with Variety, Sorokin acknowledged that she has "not made great choices." She regrets many of her past decisions, and her errors are very public, which she will have to live with forever. She stated that she does not feel remorseful for anything, but she does regret her approach regarding certain matters.

Sorokin now hosts a podcast called "The Anna Delvey Show," which examines society's preconceptions of those who break rules, how adversity impacts people, and the legitimacy of... . Additionally, she is featured on a new single while under house arrest.
